CARBON EMISSIONS WERE DRAMATICALLY REDUCED BY THE REPLACEMENT OF FOSSIL FUEL-DRIVEN RCVS (REFUSE COLLECTION VEHICLES) WITH STREAM AUTOMATED WASTE COLLECTION SYSTEMS.
Al Bandar Al Raha Beach, UAE
The ALDAR Headquarters was specifically designed in a unique geometric circular shape to set as a landmark for Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision. The 23-storey building voted as the “Best Futuristic Design 2008” by the Building Exchange (BEX), is completely fitted with an operational new refuse vacuum utility – the Automated Waste Collection Systems (AWCS) by STREAM.
Our systems have been clearly identified as the best method from source to encourage and facilitate recycling. The volumetric hopper door on every load station acts as the first line of recycling control. Large recyclable bulky items are being forced to be handled separately, hence paving the way for separation at source. A dual fragment (recyclable/non-recyclable) loading point was built with two chutes and two refuse holding chambers for a more effective waste recycling initiative.
With our system, each fraction is deposited in a specific hatch, which is emptied separately. The disposal schedules are pre-set, and the system automatically directs each type of refuse to a separate container at the Central Waste Handling Facility.
